Course fully booked for now

This beginner course will deliver the basics of wheel work and will get you started on your throwing career! Over the four weeks, you will be learning how to center clay on the wheel, how to make bowls and also how to turn (carving and shaping the bases of semi-dry pots) on the wheel. You will learn techniques in slip application to decorate your work. The finished, turned and decorated pots will then be coated in clear glaze by us and then glaze fired before being ready for collection.

These courses are fully based on learning the potter’s wheel.

There are a maximum of 7 students per course ensuring that everyone gets a nice bit of attention while learning how to throw pots!

Due to the level of concentration and hand-eye coordination that is required to master the wheel,  these courses are for people aged 16 and over.

Lessons run for 2 hours per week for 4 weeks
Cost includes all materials, firings, etc. for work made during the class times.
